Harfabet — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how The Byte Whiz (“The Byte Whiz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile learning game “Harfabet” (the “App”), a game that helps children learn their ABC, 123, and Urdu letters. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Harfabet is built for children. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you or your child to provide a name, email, or any other personal contact details to play. The limited information we process is described below.

Information We Collect

We collect a small amount of non-identifying information to operate, improve, and monetize the App:

• Gameplay & analytics data — anonymous events such as which game mode is started or completed, the score and accuracy of a round, and settings changes (sound, vibration, read-aloud, theme). This is used to understand how the game is played and to improve it.
• Device & technical data — general device and operating-system information, app version, and a randomly generated, app-specific identifier used to group analytics events. This identifier is not linked to any real-world identity.
• Advertising data — our advertising provider may access device information and an advertising identifier in order to serve and measure ads (see “Advertising” below).

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any sensitive personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles of children.

Data Stored Only on Your Device

Your best scores and your settings (sound, vibration, read-aloud, and theme) are stored locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us and is removed if you delete the App.

How We Use Information

• To run, maintain, and improve the App and its learning games.
• To analyze aggregate, anonymous usage so we can make the game better.
• To diagnose crashes and technical issues.
• To display advertising that helps keep the App free.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect the anonymous gameplay and usage data described above. The information is processed by Google on our behalf. You can learn how Google handles data in its Privacy Policy and in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.

Advertising

The App displays ads through Google AdMob. Because Harfabet is a children’s app, we request non-personalized ads. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers and related information to deliver and measure advertising, but the App does not enable interest-based ad targeting of children. Children’s Privacy

Harfabet is directed to children and designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK GDPR protections for children, and the Google Play Families and Apple Kids policies:

• no personal information is required to play;
• ads are requested as non-personalized;
• there is no social networking, chat, or user-generated content;
• there are no in-app purchases.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@thebytewhiz.com and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics and advertising data are retained by our service providers in accordance with their standard retention periods. On-device data (your best scores and settings) persists only on your device until you delete the App.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of information relating to you. Because the App does not collect personally identifying information, we may be unable to associate data with a specific individual; however, you can contact us at hello@thebytewhiz.com with any request and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect the information processed through the App, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission to our analytics provider. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
