Klink — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how The Byte Whiz (“The Byte Whiz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile game “Klink” (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Klink does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to provide your name, email, or any other personal contact details to play. The limited information we process is described below.

Information We Collect

We collect a small amount of non-identifying information to operate, improve, and monetize the App:

  • Gameplay & analytics data — anonymous events such as game starts, scores, run duration, reaction times, the stages you reach, and which shapes are mismatched. This is used to understand how the game is played and to tune difficulty and balance.
  • Device & technical data — general device and operating-system information, app version, and a randomly generated, app-specific identifier used to group analytics events. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.
  • Advertising data — our advertising provider may access advertising identifiers and device information in order to serve and measure ads (see “Advertising” below).

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any sensitive personal information.

Data Stored Only on Your Device

Your best score and your sound/volume settings are stored locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us and is removed if you delete the App.

How We Use Information

  • To run, maintain, and improve the App and its gameplay.
  • To analyze aggregate usage (e.g., progression, reaction times, and difficulty) so we can make the game better.
  • To display advertising that helps keep the App free.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect the anonymous gameplay and usage data described above. The information is processed by Google on our behalf. You can learn how Google handles data in its Privacy Policy and in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.

Advertising

The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers and related information to deliver and measure advertising. We request non-personalized ads where applicable. For details on how Google uses this data and the choices available to you, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Children’s Privacy

Klink is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Data Retention

Anonymous analytics and advertising data are retained by our service providers in accordance with their standard retention periods. On-device data (your best score and settings) persists only on your device until you delete the App.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of information relating to you. Because the App does not collect personally identifying information, we may be unable to associate data with a specific individual; however, you can contact us at hello@thebytewhiz.com with any request and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect the information processed through the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
